Slovakia international Martin Skrtel could be signed in time to join Liverpool for the visit to Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Juventus are ready to meet a late challenge from Inter head on in the race for the signature of Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko. Juventus have already opened the lines of communication and for the first time on Monday, coach Claudio Ranieri openly admitted an interest in the player, who is being dubbed in some circles as the “new Patrick Vieira”.

Bolton have rebuffed Chelsea’s undisclosed offer for striker Nicolas Anelka. Former Arsenal striker Anelka signed a new four-year contract earlier this season but his superb form has seen him strongly linked with to a move to a bigger club. Valued at about $10million, only last week he revealed to a French newspaper that Bolton and Chelsea were in a dialogue about a possible move.

Drogba has been linked with some of the continent’s biggest clubs, including Spanish giants Real Madrid and European champions AC Milan - clubs also reported to be interested in Mourinho.

Masch

Rafa could sell midfielder Xabi Alonso to raise the cash to secure the services of Javier Mascherano.

Tom Hicks and George Gillett reluctant to spend the £17 million required to secure Mascherano on a permanent deal, Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez looks set to take it upon himself to raise the funds to sign the Argentine midfielder.

Wayne Bridge could also be on the way to Liverpool as Rafa was planning a surprise swap for the Chelsea defender. Riise is not on his prime as he should for the past years.
